What we’re about
Welcome horror genre lovers, Halloween enthusiasts, and those interested in the macabre. This group will be an online and in-person meetup in the South Sound area where people can discuss various topics in horror. This group will probably start out with monthly or semi-monthly meetups at public spaces such as bars, cafes, or restaurants, to discuss different things related to horror. Hopefully it can expand to include other events such as discussions of horror writing/setting up horror stories, going to see horror movies, or getting people together for horror-related events nearby.

Book of the Month: "The Eyes Are the Best Part" by Monika Kim
A feminist psychological horror novel that delves into the unraveling of Ji-won, a Korean-American college student. Following her father's departure, Ji-won becomes fixated on her mother's new boyfriend, George, whose blue eyes ignite a disturbing obsession.
You can check the trigger warnings at the bottom, or dive in blind if you prefer a surprise.
Don’t worry if you haven’t finished the book, we’ll start by chatting about whatever spooky (or not-so-spooky) reads we’re enjoying before diving into the featured title. Come for the eerie atmosphere, stay for the lively conversations and, of course, the cats—because let’s be honest, that’s why you’re really here, isn’t it?
Questions? Feel free to drop a comment or message the host for more details. We hope to see you there!
Trigger Warnings: This month’s book contains depictions of violence, eye horror, body horror, murder, cannibalism, descriptions of war trauma (non-graphic, starvation), stalking, sexism, and racism (Asian objectification). Please approach these topics with care as you read.
