It's that time of year again when we have to start thinking about Xmas and our annual Friday walk & Xmas lunch event.
As this is the last Friday before Christmas, we need to plan ahead in order to secure a group lunch booking so your early response is required.
This year we will be heading over to Godshill (near Fordingbridge) for an approx 2 hour walk before moving onto the Fighting Cocks pub for a nice Xmas lunch where I have reserved a private area for us and our dogs. (Please note the slightly earlier start time for the Friday walk).
The actual walk is approx 5 miles commencing from the 'Godshill Cricket' forestry car park and crosses open heath to Hampton Ridge and back via Pitts Wood Inclosure. This area is a little hilly and most of the walk is exposed although there is a little bit of woodland. Obviously at this time of the year you should expect some muddy bits as some of the paths are dirt tracks and there are a couple of 'walk-through' streams to contend with. After the walk, at approx 1pm, we will be driving from the carpark back to the pub where we will be having our festive lunch pre-chosen from their 'Christmas Party' menu. Please also be aware that when RSVP'ing for this event you are committing yourself to paying a £10.00 p/p deposit which can only be refunded if someone takes your place. (Deposit payment details will be advised later and menu choices will be required at least 2 weeks before the day).

Please note that the quoted postcode relates to the Godshill Pottery which is near and is on the opposite side of the road to the 'Godshill Cricket' forestry car park. (If coming from the Fordingbridge direction then the car park is the 1st one you come to after the 'Fighting Cocks' pub).
