LHWP is in Montgomery Co., 25840 FM 1485, New Caney, Texas. We’ll meet at the parking lot just N. of the Joe Turner Nature Center at 9 am. We’ll hike about 4-6 m. Trails are easy, distance is moderate. We’ll eat lunch on the trail. There is a $3 day-use fee for ages between 13-65, seniors and military personnel with ID get in free.

If you have COVID symptoms or are sick, don’t come! We want everyone safe, so don't come if you feel under-the-weather! By going on this outing, we’ll potentially be hiking with individuals who are vaccinated/unvaccinated. It’s each person’s choice to participate on this outing.
Bring a daypack, 3 qt. water, snacks, lunch, binoculars (for birding), camera, field guides, insect repellent, hat, and weather appropriate clothes. Long pants are recommended.
The weather will be cooler, but still warm, and we may encounter mosquitoes. No pets/firearms/radios. We’ll put our cell phones on silent and enjoy the solitude/quiet/natural sounds of LHWP.
Contact your Sierra Club leader, Brandt Mannchen, for any questions, at 281-570-7212 or [email protected], or on Meet-up where you sign-up for the outing.
