Talks (w/ Pizza!) Low-Cost Static Websites / Securing your Python Code

This month, we'll be having two talks, hosted by Avilution. Kudzera, LLC will be providing free pizza and soda for attendees as well. Please register so we have accurate headcount, and let us know if there are any dietary restrictions.

Our talks will focus on low-cost websites in AWS with Python, and securing your Python code.

Running Websites for < $1 a month with AWS and Python by Pat Viafore
In this talk, Pat Viafore from Kudzera, LLC will talk about how his company employs low-cost techniques to develop websites with various AWS components and Python code. He'll talk about storage, certificates, AWS infrastructure, deployment, and AWS Lambdas, as well as why some website out of a box sites don't cut it for business owners with razor sharp margins.

Pat Viafore is one of the organizers of HSV.py, the author of Robust Python, and Principal Software Engineer at Cloud Software Group. He loves software development and is always interested in new projects. He provides consulting and training through Kudzera, LLC.

Python Security: Keeping Code Secure by Shama Patel
How can you keep your Python code secure in applications? SQL injection, cross-site scripting, & remote code execution are common Python security vulnerabilities. Learn how your code can be further secured with data sanitizing, scanning code, password storage, & running on virtual systems.

Shama Patel is a resident of Madison, AL. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Optical Engineering from The University of Alabama in Huntsville. Her engineering career began at Teledyne Brown Engineering. She later worked for Time Domain Corporation and Mentor Graphics Corporation. Shama is currently the business owner of Evening Light Designs, LLC. Her business focuses on social media content writing, website maintenance, and cybersecurity training. She also loves to teach classes on creative design, technology, and cybersecurity education at the Madison City Public Library, Madison Senior Center, and at entrepreneur events.
