What we’re about
We are The Coachella Valley Barbershop Chorus (originally “The Sandblaster Chorus”) and we're a Chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society. We’ve been around for more than 40 years, meeting weekly in Palm Desert, producing shows, performing for local organizations and competing in contests, all of which are great fun. And now, supporting the Barbershop Harmony Society’s mission of “Everyone in Harmony”, we welcome (and encourage) women to join our chorus.
We sing A Capella (no instruments) in four-part harmony, with wonderful arrangements, which thrill and amaze our audiences. They’ve heard most of our songs before, but not sung like that!
At our rehearsals we encourage our visitors to sing with us even on their first night (if they’re comfortable doing so) and we offer all the help they need to enjoy their time with us. Reading music is useful but not essential. We provide excellent audio tracks by which we can learn our new music. Our rehearsals take place at Xavier College Preparatory High School just North of the 10 Freeway on Cook Street. You’ll see details of the venue and our calendar on our Meetup pages. If you enjoy your first visit (everyone does!) we’ll be happy explain what’s involved in becoming a member and hope that you’ll make the decision to join us.
