What we’re about
Welcome to these Santa Barbara and Isla Vista guided mindfulness meditation sitting groups, in person and online. These groups aim to create a warm and supportive community, learn a skillful practice of mindfulness, compassion, and awake awareness meditation, introduce new ideas, and build community.
This group, led by Radhule Weininger, MD Ph.D., and a variety of other teachers, offers carefully guided awake awareness meditation and loving-kindness meditations intending to cultivate emotional balance, inner happiness, and awake awareness. Teachers are Kim Le, MD, Mariela Bravo, Renee Golan, Hattie Bluestone, Fred Delafield, Ben Tauber, and Michael Kearney, MD, Camille Pivard
Our meetings usually start with 15 min. teachings, 30 min guided mindfulness, and awake awareness meditation, followed by a discussion.
Everyone Welcome ~ Always Free- donations appreciated
A member just asked me to elaborate on what we try to accomplish with these meetings:
We are teaching awake awareness meditation
• get a solid basis and mindfulness. loving-kindness and compassion
• understand the foundations of Buddhist philosophy and Buddhist psychology and how it relates to Western psychology
• work to develop greater inner happiness, evenness, caring, and meaningful relationships
• develop the ability to have an inner refuge, touchstone, awakening, and to learn to rest in awake awareness
• develop a community of people who want to learn, grow, and create a safe, warm and fun environment
