Hudson Valley Fantasy Book Club (Title TBD — Voting Open!)

Join us for our next book club meeting at Poughkeepsie Panera! This meeting will be reading one of the following titles:

Assassin's Apprentice by Robin Hobb
The Jasmine Throne by Tasha Suri
The Hobbit by J. R. R. Tolkien

Voting will be done primarily on our discord server (available to anyone who has previously attended a meetup) but if you're new and would like to cast your vote in the comments on this event I will count it towards the total. Voting will close 5pm EST on 11/17.

New members are welcome!

When joining, we do ask that everyone please make a purchase at the venue, so we can support our local businesses and have them happy for us to return. :-)

If you're looking for a place to read (or re-read!) and discuss fantasy and/or romantasy books, you've come to the right place! We read a mix of popular fantasy, romantasy, and classic literature with fantasy elements. From Tolkien and ancient Greek tragedies to A Court of Thorns and Roses and Legends & Lattes.

This is a 21+ (we read books with adult themes and sometimes meet in bars) LGBT+ friendly book club. We don't exclusively read queer books, and you don't need to be queer to join, but you MUST be an ally comfortable reading books where queer themes, characters, and relationships are present either in the background or in a central capacity.

We meet twice a month and aim to read roughly 100 pages a week. If you fall behind, no worries! Just expect there will be spoilers in discussion if you still join in. If you're not interested in a title or don't have time to read for a few weeks, feel free to skip and join in on the next one!
