What we’re about
This is the unofficial Meetup group for Hugo House, a nonprofit that aims to open the literary world to everyone who loves books or has the drive to write. Hugo House hosts a wide range of writing classes and other literary programming throughout the year. Find out more at https://hugohouse.org/.
On Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings, Hugo House hosts Book Bar. This is a casual environment where you can work on your creative projects, connect with fellow writers, and grab a drink / snacks!
On Saturday mornings, the group will read essays by a famous author and discuss. Past essayists covered include David Foster Wallace, Joan Didion, and Ursula K. Le Guin. You don't have to come with any prior knowledge or reading, but basic context for the author's work will probably improve the experience.
We hope you will join our writing community!
