Details

HOA began on Rainbow Mountain 5 years ago with just a handful of people featuring 2 late afternoon hikes each week. At the beginning of the COVID pandemic many of us felt that it was best to make the most of the outdoors, safely, meet new people, breathe fresh air, and stretch the legs rather than hunker down inside. We were the only active Huntsville hiking group up and runing during this time. Since then, this group has as grown to over 2,500 people maintaining amazing hiking events and expanding to some incredible social gatherings. On this day, we will get back to our roots and trek the Rainbow Mountain and Ja-Moo-Ko loop, almost 3 miles of moderate hiking with about 450 ft elevation. We’ll take advantage of the calling Spring and newfound daylight and bring together the some old friends with the new. Please join us for this Back to Our Roots hike.

This will be a moderately paced hike. With enough people we may split the hike into 2 groups, slower-paced hike (Rainbow Mountain loop) and faster-paced hike (Rainbow mountainn/Ja-Moo-Ko Loop). Hope to see you all where it all began!
