Anthony's Nose Scramble before work, plus optional 2 miles on either AT (north bound) or Blue (south bound), which is decided by the group.
Distance: 2.0-4.0 Miles
Elevation Gain : 750-1250 FT
Start Time: We leave at exactly 7:00 am. Please arrive a few minutes early.
Pace: Quick Pace for a strenuous workout before work. Although it’s a short hike, the first 0.75 mile is a continuous steep hill, which may be challenging for some people. There will be no sweep.
ROUTE Description: Our starting point is at the fence surrounding the suspension cables on the north east corner of the Bear Mtn Bridge. We take the former blue trail which is a scramble up the face of Anthony's Nose. It is a steep 700 ft scrambling ascent over 0.75 miles to the summit. Great views of the Hudson River, Bear Mtn Bridge and Hudson Highlands! At the summit we will take a short break from the viewpoint at the top. From there we head NE (LEFT) on the blue trail for about 0.6 miles until the junction with the Appalachian Trail (White Blaze). From there we take a LEFT and DESCEND 700 vertical ft to route 9D. We have a short road walk back to our vehicles.

We park along route 9D near the east side of Bear Mtn Bridge.
