Please start earlier if you think you will take longer. Note that the park closes at sunset so our goal is to get back to our cars well before it becomes dark. That said, you MUST bring a headlamp just in case. Total distance is 3.1 miles approx. and we expect to finish in around 1.5-2 hours. The elevation gain is almost 1400' so be prepared to climb, especially in the steep beginning. Though a short hike, this is widely considered to be one of the most strenuous hikes in the lower Hudson valley, hence why it takes so long to complete.
