£1 walk LS26 Nature Reserve

An approximate 2 hour walk around St. Aidens Nature Reserve, Fleakingley Lane and the Lines up to Billy Woods.

This is a roughly 5.5 mile circular route.

Meet at the Sunshine Miners Memorial (Oddball) next to the Car Park inside the Reserve at Midday.

You will see some birdlife, wildflowers, lakes and a gorgeous view from the Peak of Billy Wood Hills, overlooking Kippax, Great Preston, Woodlesford and beyond.

Please wear suitable footware as it can be a bit muddy in parts of there's been rain.

Trails are mostly flat or moderate but a couple of steep sections both up and down hill and our pace is quite brisk. Please ensure you are able to handle this before signing up!

NB. I will cancel this walk if the weather is poor, so please watch this space. Dogs OK on leads essential at this location. Pay and Display parking inside the gate or roadside nearby for free! Watch out for double yellow lines by the entrance!
