**This is a Rain or Shine event. Please take a good lunch or bring along some snacks if you feel hungry along the way. Our walks are usually between 8 - 12 km long. Just so you know, the weather may be hot but as the sun sets, the weather should be cooler.
Please be punctual. You are encouraged to be slightly early to avoid disappointments. There will be 5 minutes grace for attendance taking. Please remember that we cannot wait because this would be unfair to those already present.
This Meetup group is a community-led group by volunteers. Please extend grace in areas of inadequacy. You are most welcome to give constructive feedback; we strive for improvement!
Let's walk the Bukit Timah Railway Station, Railway Truss Bridge, and climb Bukit Timah Hill and Rifle Range Park together!!
The conserved Bukit Timah Railway Station building was built in 1932 and is one of two extant railway stations in Singapore. Along with its key architectural and railway elements, the railway station has been sensitively and carefully restored and repurposed as a heritage gallery for visitors to learn about its history and that of the Rail Corridor.
Bukit Timah Hill, is the highest natural peak in Singapore. Designated Singapore’s second ASEAN Heritage Park in 2011, the Bukit Timah Nature Reserve is home to about 40% of Singapore’s natural flora and fauna. It is so richly green, lovingly conserved, and well-curated, that even the most hardened of mountaineer will admit to Bukit Timah being worthy of a visit.
Located at the former Sin Seng Quarry site, the Rifle Range nature park enhances ecological connectivity and features boardwalks and trails with panoramic views. We will try to climb up to get a sunset view from the top of the park!
