Lapham Peak Hike- Free of Deer Hunters-Not a beginners hike

Details

Gun Deer Hunting Season is open, lets stay off the IAT and hike the Black Trail at Lapham Peak. This is NOT A BEGINNERS hike - 7 hilly miles.

We will meet at the Evergreen parking lot, hike the yellow and black trails. People that need to tap out can, as Lapham has a lot of trails that cut back to the parking lots

This can be a challenging hike and there are lots of other trails if you need to break off.

We will all meet at the Evergreen parking area, we will NOT HAVE TO SHUTTLE CARS as we will stay in Lapham Peak Park.

***You WILL need a WI State Parks sticker for parking for this hike or pay a for a one day parking pass at the entrance gate.

For those of you have hiked with our group previously, this is NOT the yellow Ice Age Trail but the more interesting black trail.

• Please dress appropriately for these hikes. It’s important for your safety and comfort. Do not wear denim jeans, try and avoid cotton (unless you like to be dripping wet and never want to dry off), wear hiking shoes or boots and good hiking socks. If you have not been hiking lately and think that because you walk 5-6 or more miles in your tennis shoes and jeans around town just fine, and that those will be ok for these hikes, you will be sorely mistaken…literally. We need to hike as a group since we are shuttling cars. If you are not dressed appropriately you could wind up being very uncomfortable for the bulk of the hike and could slow down the entire group. Please refer to this link for appropriate hiking clothing and footwear (scroll to the bottom): https://goo.gl/uIcjEM
