Important Group Rule/Notice. Do not contact people you have not met in real life

There are three primary group rules for members.

1. There is no tolerance unsolicited and unwelcome contact. This is grounds for immediate removal. To say it a different way: Do not contact (message) people you have not met in real life at an event.

2. At events and online: members will respect each other and respect other people's boundaries. Creepy, inappropriate or disrespectful behavior will not be tolerated! This is grounds for immediate removal from the venue, and/or the group.

3. Do not use the "discussion box" on the main page, and do not use any of the bulk spam email features of the group. This is grounds for immediate removal.

If you receive contact from group members you have not met in real life please report the organizer and it will be taken care of in a discreet way.
If you are contacted by a person not in the group please report it immediately. If they are in any sister groups to this group they will be removed from those.

This is a community, not a singles group.
If you are contacted it is likely by an overseas scammer. If is not it is by a clueless person who thinks this is tinder.

Of course there are exceptions. The main organizers reach out all the time related to events. Or if a person contacts you with a context (such if you just posted for a carpool).

Once again, if you receive any sort of messaging from any person that is not a main organizer on the group forward it immediately to the main organizers.

How do I do this?
Copy the profile name and what was said and message it to any of the listed Event Hosts for this event.
You can also click the "contact the organizers" button.
If you use the desktop you can highlight the profile URL and paste that in the message.
If you use the app. Do a screen shot of the message and of the profile page and text it to 8I8 856 I895

Now that is out of the way . . . Enjoy the group. It's a good place with even better people. As organizers we work had to keep it this way.

Enter a title
Enter a date and time
Enter a the wording of the event (no outside links, and be descriptive and include all needed info)
Enter a location

Click Submit.

There are some limits on what can be posted as an event. But that's a different notice.
