- Cucalorus Film Festival Showing: Operation Taco Gary'sThalian Hall Center for the Performing Arts, Inc., Wilmington, NC
Let's check out the Cucalorus Film Festival! The 30th annual Cucalorus Film Festival takes place November 20-24, 2024 in downtown Wilmington, North Carolina. The non-competitive festival showcases more than 120 films from all over the world and attracts filmmakers, performers and activists who come to celebrate the art-form, discover new work, and discuss the ongoing work of undoing racism. The festival's spirited celebration is a breeding ground for young artists, new ideas and future collaborations.
Festival programs focus on social justice, dance on camera, emerging voices, southern stories, horror & the bizarre, and the finest indie films of the year. One of the narrative features caught my eye and I'd like to gather a group to go see it. Receiving support from the North Carolina Film Incentive program and shot on location in Charlotte and Waxhaw, Operation Taco Gary's is a charmingly offbeat showcase for North Carolina's capacity to make great weird movies! Hop into the back seat, we're heading to the home of the Bingo Bongo Fiesta.
Tickets are about $20 per person and will need to be purchased separately by each attendee. You can order tickets at this link. The movie starts at 7:45pm and will be playing on the Main Stage at Thalian Hall. Run time is 86 minutes.
