What we’re about
Whether you're a casual rider or a speed demon, this group will fulfill your deepest desires! Okay, maybe just your desire to enjoy the world's most efficient form of transportation.
We meet several times every month (a little less during the winter) for varying rides throughout the city. We ride in various locations including Eagle Creek Park, the Monon Trail, other greenways, and anywhere else with minimal traffic (maybe even some off-road). This year we'll do some weekend rides out of town, or even out of state. We'll attend bike-related events, possibly engage in some advocacy and learn a bit about bicycle maintenance.
Join us for a great year of fun, friends and freedom on two wheels...or one...or three...heck, quads are welcome too!
We've set up a rating system (in honor of the Olympics) for the rides so you can figure out which you would feel most comfortable attending:
Gold - faster (16+ mph) and longest (50+ miles)
Silver - intermediate (12-16 mph) and moderate length (20 - 50 miles)
Bronze - leisurely (less than 12 mph) and short (up to 20 miles)
We'll do our best to accomdate everyone and leave no rider behind. Please help us by attending rides within your skill and fitness level.
We require helmets on ALL rides. Head and tail lights are required on all rides ending after sundown. Reflective gear is strongly recommended. Ride organizers will do their best to find and lead safe rides. However, we CANNOT be held liable for your safety. Each rider must keep their own bike and gear in proper condition, follow all traffic laws, and follow safe riding practices. This group will do what we can to educate members on safe riding practices. You are encouraged to take a bike safety class and/or read up on bike safety and Indiana biking laws.
