What we’re about
Welcome to the Inner Light Meditation Centre Townsville Meetup Group! We gather to explore and connect to the inner light within through various practices such as meditation, breathwork, qigong, sound healing, and kundalini practices.
Our meetups are centered around understanding ourselves through a non-dualistic lense that we are all One. We also delve into topics like the nature of reality, via our fortnightly Tea with Mo sessions, and monthly Conscious Conversations.
Many of our sessions are offered via Energy Philanthropy - where there are no conditions placed on 'this service = this $': pay what you feel is right for you. Alli and Maurice (the directors) generously gift their time, money, and skills to allow this centre to be a place where community can come together for the purpose of healing and awakening.
Join us on this transformative journey of self-discovery and personal growth, and come and be part of a community, and come home to yourSelf. All are welcome to explore the vast world of spirituality with open hearts and minds.

THE BENEFITS OF THIS MEDITATION PRACTICE
A silent tea ceremony is a great way to meditate as you are present with what is arising for you as you are held by the tea and the ceremony that it holds.Tea is so much more than we in the western world are familiar with. Tea is an ancient tradition and has been used in meditation, as well as medicinal purposes, to bring stillness, clarity, and help improve your wellbeing.
In a traditional tea ceremony, guests gather to partake in several bowls of tea. On average, these ceremonies lasts approximately one hour, with several rounds of the tea being served.
A tea ceremony is a silent meditation, as you focus on the tea and yourself. As you drink tea, you also meditate noticing what is present in the stillness. It is a beautiful mindfulness practice and a great way to take a break from our busy lives, to come into stillness and gain access to the information of our spirit and consciousness that is available to you in this mindfulness practice.
Not only do you share tea, but you also share your insights and reflections. After partaking in the tea, you can share what you felt during the ceremony and what arose for you. We are often surprised by what comes to your mind in the presence of tea in silence.
Tea is also a form of medicine. Back in ancient times, tea was used to cultivate the equanimous mind. Having an equanimous mind means having stability and balance with your state of mind. Tea helps you gain stability and composure, when discomfort arises within your system. Sitting with Tea allows you to enquire into the phenomena to see what information is available.
These sessions are an intimate space for gathering of up to 8 people (6 participants, 1 tea server; 1 assistant).
We ask that you arrive 5-10 minutes early, to settle the mind and move towards the stillness of the equanimity in the Bowl Tea Ceremony.
Be prepared to enter the meditative space in silence. The bathroom and some seating space is available before entering the Meditation Centre.
The ceremony is 45 minutes, with 15 minutes to share your experiences. A wonderful way to start the day.
We have chosen to offer this beautiful gift of presence via Energy Philanthropy. With this in mind, if you are unable to make it, please can you let us know, so we can make the space available to another.
Thank you for displaying interest in our Bowl Tea ceremony sessions.
These sessions are typically priced between $35 and $55 per session however we would like to introduce to you the concept of energy philanthropy.
