Happy holidays!

If you're like me, then this is one of your favorite times of year!!!

And lucky for us, that Houston hosts the annual FREE Lights in the Heights every year.

A section of the Heights closes down to cars and literally everyone in the neighborhood decorates their houses to the max. Many of the folx also do free music/concerts in front of their houses. It's so fun and last year was awesome as well, so I know it will be another good year!

Read on for deets:

**MEETING**
We will meet at the Anitdote coffee shop ahead of time, so we can gather, then head off as a group to enjoy the event. **Start arriving around 6pm and then we will head off sometime between 6:15-6:30pm.**

I will arrive a bit early and grab seating, then use the Discord group to text how to find us. Make sure to join ahead of time. (Link in comments.)

If you will be arriving later, I cannot guarantee that I will hear my messages or that you will be able to find where we are because we will be walking around.

**PARKING**
It is going to be a very busy event. Most of this area of the Heights will be closed off to cars and it is going to start getting busy early.

My suggestions:

1\. Just Uber/Lyft straight to the coffee house and ask the driver to take you up Heights or Yale\, then head east over to the coffee shop down 8th or 9th street\. **Studemont is going to be VERY busy.**

2\. If driving\, take the same route\. Approach the Heights on Heights or Yale streets\. Turn east down 8th or 9th streets and find free street parking there\, then walk up to Studemont and use that to cross over to the coffee shop located at 8th & Studemont streets\. \(The entrance to the shop looks out to Studemont street\.\)

**BATHROOMS AND FOOD/DRINK**
I believe they do set up some port-a-loos around the area, but obviously you can also use the facilities at the coffee shop before/after.

The shop also sales food and drink options, or bring your own. Keep in mind we will be on our feet and walking the entire time, so just make sure you can easily carry whatever you bring.

Many people bring rollable coolers and the like.

**WEATHER AND CLOTHING**
It's Houston, so y'all know that means it's anybody's guess what the weather will be like that night.

If it is raining \*really\* hard, I will cancel, but if it's just a light rain, I will keep the event on. Last year it rained but then let up. Let's hope for better weather this year!!!

Just keep in mind this is a fully outdoor event, and we will be walking the entire time, so dress however you need to, to be comfortable that night. Hopefully we'll get some nice weather for it this year.

**AFTER PARTY AT STAR BAR**
If enough people want to after, and/or it is raining too hard, let's head to Star Bar after and continue the holiday hangs.

Feel free to dress up in your holiday best as well. NOT mandatory, but just for fun.
