Internationals and expats in Leuven (by International House)

Are you new in town or are you soon arriving in Leuven and want to get an introduction to life as a new Leuvener? Are you considering moving to Leuven but have some practical questions? Want an overview of life here combined with a walk to get you oriented to town? You've come to the right place!

Join the the Welcome to Leuven Walk & Talk organised by International House Leuven for all international newcomers, not-so-newcomers, and visiting almost-newcomers. We'll start with a 30-40 minute presentation that covers the basics of living in Leuven, during which you are free to ask all practical questions you might have regarding working, living, and enjoying life in the Leuven region. Then we'll got on a walk through the center of Leuven—about 1h45 long—pointing out hot spots, local favorites, and pointing out places mentioned in the presentation.
This event will be conducted in English.

You're welcome to send in specific questions or topics for us to cover beforehand or simply join to say hello.

Make sure to check the weather and dress appropriately for the walk.

This is a free event, but registration is required.

After a hard day’s work, do you find yourself questioning what it means to live a “good” life? Or do you contemplate the absurdity of our mortal coil? If so, grab a chair, order a drink, and please join us to talk about it!

Our motivation for this group is to create an informal public space to discuss, with a critical eye, the complex questions that are meaningful to us and our lives, with the support of the unique perspectives each of us can bring to the table. Our aim is to hopefully leave each discussion with a new relation to the topics and themes discussed, and with new avenues of exploration and questions regarding them.

No prior background or formal training in philosophy is required to join; everyone and anyone is very welcome!

The discussions will be structured loosely around a broad topic that the group votes on from a pool of topics proposed by the participants.
