Time to air your grievances… 😝 😝 Ever feel like planning for the Holidays with your family is just too damn hard? 🤨 🧐 🤔

Many don’t celebrate Christmas per se, but embrace Festivus and Winter Solstice. (The longest night of the year—Dec. 21st—coming up Fast.)
This one is for US! 🌚 🌞 🌄 🌅

Note: Please READ through all Information listed here for this event!!!

Note: You may come to Corey's ahead of the hike, around 2:30 pm, to drop off/or set up your food or crock pots. Drop off the items you don't want to leave in your car.

Hike to start at 3:00 pm at Battle Creek Park (east)—meet at the Waterworks parking lot.

I will host the hike on the paved trails around Battle Creek east. There are lots of nice trails around here, with water features and big trees… I will lead you around the trails on the north side of upper Afton and then cross over to the south side, where the dog park is, and there are more trails. I will try to keep it brief to get on with our festivities!

Join us after hike at Corey Johnson's House for a Potluck Festivus/Solstice/holiday party & white elephant gift game.

You may post your food offerings in the comments (if you like), but bring soups, stews, apps, salads, veggie sides, breads, holiday desserts . . .

There will be places to plug in crock pots and set up the food. We have a volunteer to watch over our food while the others hike. Perhaps you have a plus-one that would rather stay inside and stir the stews?

BONUS HOLIDAY FUN: We will play the white elephant game, where guests bring a wrapped regifting gift (or a new gift with a $25 max purchase price), and we draw numbers to take turns choosing a gift from the wrapped array, or stealing a chosen, opened desirable gift from another player! (That’s how the game goes….) We had a blast with this last year!

Bringing a gift is your ticket to play, but it’s optional and you can choose to not, and just watch or socialize anywhere else in Corey’s huge holiday-decorated house.

Corey has been so gracious to host our holiday party in her home. Please let's help her by cleaning up well afterward.

Wear appropriate clothing! Hikes are often on unpaved trails and can be wet, muddy, slippery, rocky, icy. There are animals with teeth, claws, antlers and even forked tongues. There are insects with stingers, etc. This is nature! Dress correctly and come prepared with bug spray, sunscreen, water, layers, extra gloves, umbrellas, rain coats, lightening rods, and snow cleats, if needed. Bring flashlights and headlamps to night hikes. Use your sense.

No kids or dogs this time, but plus-ones are welcome to attend with a registered members of Intrepid, Fit & Social.
