This is my last hike in our Woods until next spring. I am hopong for some snow, so I get to see the Woods dressed in Winter!

Feel free to bring a guest and join me on a 4.5-5 mile moderate-to-brisk-paced hike in a well-kept secret—an old growth woods right in the heart of the City of Roseville.

I am hosting today and will have Pip, so this will be a more moderate pace for those of you who prefer that. I love these woods, so going slower is an opportunity to take it all in….

I will always call this my home turf woods, but many of us now know these trails well—we park at the back of the B-Dale Club’s large lot and start off in Villa Park, connect through a local neighborhood to the wood’s trail, then jump into the woods where you will enjoy pine woods, oak woods, meadow, pond and even a secret spot where the oldest Butternut trees in MN still stand. Often I’ve encountered everything from deer, wild turkeys, owls, waterfowl (when open water) to the occasional red fox!

For lunch:

Our terrific spot is Mi-Sant Kitchen & Bakery. This place has killer Bipn’Bop Bowls and is famous for their Ban-Mi, served on the most insane freshly baked baguette. I’ve recently discovered their fresh spring rolls!!! They also have the most insane array of flavors of filled croissants! And Bubble Tea. (Which I think is weird, but many love it.)

Cafeteria-style ordering, so no reservations required. First-come, first-served.

Wear appropriate clothing! Hikes are often on unpaved trails and can be wet, muddy, slippery, rocky, icy. There are animals with teeth, claws, antlers and even forked tongues. There are insects with stingers, etc. This is nature! Dress correctly and come prepared with bug spray, sunscreen, water, layers, extra gloves, umbrellas, rain coats, lightening rods, and snow cleats, if needed. Use your sense.

Please no kids. Your well-behaved dogs are allowed but be mindful of the cold and don’t leave them in your car at Misant unless doable. Your plus ones are welcome, as long as they are accompanied by registered members of Intrepid, Fit & Social.
