Name: Devils Punch Bowl hike via Hindhead Common, Gibbet Hill and Thursley

This circular hike in the Surrey Hills **Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty** the Devil's Punch Bowl - a large natural amphitheatre and beauty spot and nature reserve, filled with heath-land, streams and woodland. Gibbet Hill, the second highest hill in Surrey at 272 metres (892 ft). From here there are magnificent views over the punch-bowl, Thursley, Hankley Common, Crooksbury Hill, the South Downs, Godalming and Guildford. The hills of Haslemere and Black Down can also be seen, while on a clear day the iconic buildings of London are also visible.

💪**Grade**: Moderate/Hard 11.5 miles, 480 meters of ascent throughout the day in total, there are several steep hill climb. Parts of this hike can be very muddy and wet following heavy rain.

* **🚶🏽‍♀️You must be able to hike at a regular 2.5 miles per hour**
* **🐶Dogs, children & under 18's not welcome**
* **💱Event bookings are none transferable or refundable, unless we have to reschedule or cancel, in which case a full refund will be available upon request**

**😓Factors outside our control,** such as train strikes, rail engineering works, train timetable changes, heavy rain, flooding, thunderstorms, ice/snow or extreme/dry heat, may force us to **alter** or **reschedule.**

🙋🏽‍♂️**Meeting point**: London Waterloo Station under the central clock, Look out for our Invigorate sign and Michael's orange cap/beanie. There may be other Meetup groups meeting at the station simultaneously.

💳**Train Ticket** off peak day return to Haslemere

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦**Group Saver discount** 1/3rd off the price should be available when buying 3 tickets or more together. You must travel with other group saver ticket holders on both the outward and return journey.

🏃🏾**We leave for the train** no later than 08:45

**🚆We plan to catch** the 09:00 train from arriving to Haslemere **at 09:53 AM.**

🚻**Use the toilet on the train** before we get to Haslemere as we will be heading straight out for our hike once we arrive at Haslemere.

**🚗**You are very welcome to join us at Haslemere **station** directly (but please let us know if you do) the hike will start as soon as we arrive.

**🍕Lunch:** We will have a 45-minute lunch stop at the [Three Horse Shoes ](http://threehorseshoesthursley.com/menu/)pub in Thursley , If ordering food please ensure it will be quick as we will only have **40 minutes**. If you bring your own food please do not eat it in the pub or in their garden,

**🚩Finish:** should be around 4:30 at a pub in Haslemere

🍻**Optional pub drinks/food** at the end of the hike, **a 15 minute walk back to the station**

**🚆There are direct Trains back to London after the hike/pub**
