A stunning rural hike starting at Coulsdon South and ending at Caterham, both in **Oyster Zone 6**, which follows the North Downs Way with it's beautiful views, a country pub lunch stop and visit to a Vineyard. The area is part of London's "Green Belt" and is a "Special Scientific Interest" area and rich in wildlife, including various species of butterflies, birds, and flowers. just 25 minutes from London Bridge station.

💪**Grade:** Moderate/Hard, 12 miles, a hilly hike with an elevation of around 550 metres throughout the day.

**The North Downs Way National Trail** is a long-distance path in southern England, opened in 1978.

**Farthing Downs and the Happy Valley are** open space with Eight Acres New Hill to the south-east, it is owned and managed by the Corporation of London. Farthing Downs and Eight Acres Common are part of the Farthing Downs and Happy Valley Site of Special Scientific Interest. With
Its chalk and natural grasslands have a large variety of rare herbs, including some which are nationally scarce, such as the wildflower greater yellow-rattle.

**Godstone Vineyard** with its free-draining greensand soil, southerly aspect, and beautiful location. The first vines were planted at in 1985. They grow two varieties, Seyval Blanc and Bacchus, producing top quality wines.

**🚶🏽‍♀️You need to be able to hike at a regular 2.5 miles per hour.**

🩹**A First Aid Kit** is carried by the hike leader.

🐶**Dogs** are not welcome on any of our hikes.

🙋🏽‍♂️**Meeting point**: London Bridge Station, at 09:00 sharp, next to the lower concourse ticket office, look out for our "Invigorate" sign and Michael's orange cap.

Please ensure you join the right group as there will be other Meetup hiking groups meeting at the station simultaneously.

💳**Train Ticket** Please use your Oyster card.

🏃🏾**We leave for the train** no later than 09:15.

**🚆We plan to catch the 09:30 train**

🚻**Use the toilet on the train** before we get to Station as we will be heading straight out for our hike once we arrive at **Coulsdon South Station.**

**🚗**You are very welcome to join us at **Coulsdon South Station** directly (but please let us know if you do) the hike will start as soon as we arrive.

▶️**Hike Start** We start the hike **Coulsdon South Station**

**🕙Morning:** 5-mile hike in the morning,

**🍕Lunch:** A beautiful countryside pub in Chaldon which dates back over four centuries, If ordering food please ensure it will be quick as we will only have 40 minutes for our lunch break. If you bring your own food please do not eat it in the pub or their garden.

**🕜Afternoon:** a further 7 miles with a stop 15 minute break at the Godstone Vineyard

**🚩Finish:** around 4:30 pm at a pub very near to **Caterham Station.**

**🚆Trains** to **London** from back to London Bridge
