With autonomy advancing in defense robotics and vehicles, a Real-Time Operating System (RTOS) plays a crucial role in ensuring safety, reliability, and real-time performance. Defense applications such as unmanned aerial systems (UAS), autonomous ground vehicles (AGVs), and intelligent robots require precise control, low-latency, and secure operations in complex, often unpredictable environments such as GPS-denied areas. A microkernel based RTOS is particularly well-suited for these needs, offering high determinism, scalability, fault tolerance, and rapid response times.
