What we’re about
What we're all about: From the plays of Samuel Beckett or Marina Carr to the poetry of Eavan Boland or Seamus Heaney. From the novels of O’Brien or Rooney to the beat of Irish traditional, folk, and rock music. From the lilting richness of the Irish language to the visual art of Francis Bacon or Catherine Barron. These touchstones hardly scratch the surface of Ireland’s vibrant cultural tapestry.
So, a big welcome, or as we say in Ireland, céad mile fáilte to the Irish Culture Club Munich. We are a group of Irish people living in Munich who decided to celebrate, get to know, and keep alive our native culture here in Bavaria by getting together for regular Irish cultural events.
We're a sociable culture club: Group members can choose from a range of activities, like watching movies featuring emerging Irish talent, participating in play and poetry readings, or travelling to other cities for diverse Irish cultural events. Regardless of the event type, there's always a chance to meet and discuss your impressions either at the event venue or at a nearby bar or café.
How often: We’ll try to offer one event per month.
Who can come: Anyone interested in Irish culture and meeting new people.
No-show policy: Please – only put yourself on the going list if you have the time and you intend coming along to an event. If you sign up for an event and cannot go along, you are a no-show. We ask that you try to provide at least 48 hours’ notice in this case. This gives those on the waiting list time to take the vacant spot.
Look forward to meeting you.
