Silver Spokes Women's Cycling: Sunday Beginner Ride/Getting Back to Cycling

Location: We meet at the parking lot behind the Irvine Civic Center. Look for the awning in the park next to the parking lot. The parking lot is behind the Civic Center. You can enter the parking lot from Harvard Avenue by turning on Civic Center Plaza. Look for us on the right. Call Lynda at 714-801-4856 if you can't find me.

We will meet in the parking lot and ride out at noon. Please come early to get your bike ready (if this is your first ride with the group, the suggested arrival time is 11:30 AM).

The Route:

This ride is specifically designed for those who are new to riding or just getting back to cycling and desiring to build fitness.

If you have been wanting to come out for a ride but weren't quite sure about the group, this is a perfect way to get started. We will be going slow and short, about 6-8 miles on the Mountain to Sea Trail, entirely on the bike path. Enjoy a leisurely, safe ride and meet some new friends.

Helmets are mandatory for all rides. We will be observing standard bicycle safety rules, and the host will do a short safety speech before we ride.

Silver Spokes is a cycling group specifically designed for senior women who want to stay active on their bikes and socialize, while not aiming to go fast or long. Road bikes and e-bikes are welcome.

Silver Spokes was established in May, 2024 and is growing quickly.
