Join us for a 4-mile night hike on the Hickory Ridge trail. Part of our hike will be lit with lanterns, but headlamps or flashlights may be needed on the other parts of the trail (and not allowed in the lantern section).
Be sure to dress warm.
We recommend you wear ice cleats (such as Hillsound Trail Crampon Ice Cleats or Kahtoola Microspikes) as it may be hard to see slippery patches.
There will be a campfire and hot chocolate at the beginning and end of the hike courtesy of the Friends of Island Lake.
NOTE: people who want a shorter hike can do the regular lantern hike on their own – this is around 1.5 miles and you can start any time between 6pm and 8:45pm.
This longer night hike is NOT cross-posted to Facebook.
Cost: free, but requires state park entry fee or passport
