What we’re about
We're a friendly group of adult men and women of all ages and from all walks of life, some of whom work, study or live in North London or the City but many who don't. Our ages mostly range from early twenties to late forties but we accept (and have) adult members of all ages.
As well as encouraging reading, it's a fantastic way to meet people and our meetings are great fun!
Islington Book Club is a successful reading group which has run continuously since being founded in January 2008. Run by Francis H up to 2018, it is now led by Rich P, Sam B, Helen M, Susan B, & Sam V
We meet in Islington at 7.30pm on the last Monday of each month to drink, eat and discuss books. The discussion is quite lively and we have a great deal of fun!
As well as our monthly book discussions, we run a number of other social activities throughout the year, including our annual literary themed summer pub crawl!
The book club's nominal annual subscription fee is simply to cover our Meetup.com running costs and we are strictly not-for-profit; all meetings are free for paid-up members. People who do not pay the membership fee may be removed from the group.
To pay your £8 memberships dues, please pay via PayPal to [email protected]. Make sure you label the transaction 'Book Club Subs'. If you don't use PayPal, please contact Rich for his bank details.
If you're interested in joining, please click on the red "Join us!" button. We hope to see you soon!
