Immacolata weekend in the Black Forest

Dettagli

Since there's already a tennis event posted for next week, I guess I'll post a trip now. In case someone has December 6-7-8 off and hasn't planned yet what to do for St Nicholas-St Ambrogio-Immacolata weekend, a few of us are heading to Germany, in search of snowy Xmas markets and warm mugs of glühwein.

The idea is to head to the place that's easiest to reach: the Black Forest.

The plan is to be based in Bad Krozingen for 2 nights: this will provide us with the coveted train/bus pass, to travel around the Black Forest free of charge.

December 7th will be aimed at Baden Baden and December 8th will be for Waldkirch. Both towns have plenty of events to offer, including a concert that will take us to remote corners of the globe ( https://www.schwarzwald-tourismus.info/veranstaltungen/exotisches-aroma-cf1f6a6b16p ) and a singing Xmas tree ( https://www.stadt-waldkirch.de/start/stadtinformation+und+tourismus/der+singende+weihnachtsbaum.html ) to celebrate the 225 years of barrel organ making in Waldkirch.

As usual, we'll try to combine sightseeing with hiking, weather permitting. And we'll try to include some Swiss Xmas markets as well, more specifically Olten on December 6th (as there are a couple of Santa Claus related events) and maybe Zurich on the way back (the opera house features a special Advent calendar show every day at 5:30pm).
