Christmas Parade Potluck - Long Beach

Details

The 40th Annual Belmont Shore Christmas Parade returns on Saturday, December 7th, 2024, from 6 PM to 9 PM, proudly presented by the Belmont Shore Business Association.
Bring your chairs, blankets, warm jackets, hot drinks, and snacks, and join us for a night of festive fun! We suggest meeting at 5 PM to secure street parking and claim a prime spot for watching the parade, which begins promptly at 6 PM.
This beloved community event brings locals and visitors together to celebrate the holiday season. Each year, the parade showcases local businesses, schools, and community groups, drawing in tens of thousands of spectators. The theme for 2024 is "A Holiday Tradition," celebrating 40 years of holiday magic and the cherished tradition the parade has become for so many.
The 1.2-mile parade route begins at Livingston & 2nd Street, heads east along 2nd Street, turns around at Bay Shore Avenue, and returns to the starting point at Livingston. The event is free and open to all ages to enjoy.

### Highlights:

  • Live Stream: Can’t attend in person? The parade will be live-streamed! Visit belmontshore.org to watch from home. Special guest Emcee Bob Goen will host, and the event will be filmed by Grant White Productions.
  • Entertainment: Over 100 entries will include floats from local businesses and organizations, marching bands, drill teams, city officials, and even our beloved Corgis! Returning favorites like the Royal Syncopated Drum Corps will be joined by new, exciting surprises.
  • Santa Claus: And of course, no Christmas parade would be complete without a visit from St. Nick himself!

### Important Information:

  • Street Closures: Belmont Shore side streets will close at 2 PM, and 2nd Street will be closed to traffic at 4 PM.
  • Seating Regulations: No items (chairs, blankets, tables, coolers, etc.) are allowed on the sidewalk or center median until 5 PM. Any unaccompanied items placed earlier will be removed and taken to Bayshore Library for pickup after the parade.
  • Parking: The city of Long Beach recommends free parking in the Ocean Blvd beach lots. After 3 PM, additional spaces will be available in the Marine Stadium parking lots.

Don’t miss this time-honored holiday tradition of festive floats, magical marching bands, and adorable scout troops as they make their way down Belmont Shore for a night of holiday cheer!
