The beaches are already full of microplastics. Colourful tiny pieces of plastic will never be back to nature. We regret that we could not make enough time to focus on picking up these tiny little pollutants.

So, this time, we would like to sweep out microplastics together! After volunteering, let's enjoy a yummy vegan lunch.

If you are late, please come to the beach and find us by yourself. Please note that Rakuten-mobile is out of service at the beach so the organizer cannot check messages after 10:30.

In about 4 hours, you can experience these with us:

◯ Schedule

• 10:00 Meet at JR 茅ヶ崎(Chigasaki) station
• 10:30 Arrive at the 茅ヶ崎ビーチ(Chigasaki beach), lecture for our safety
• 10:35 Pick up microplastics
• 11:50 Bring garbage bags to the collection area
• 12:30 Arrive at the restaurant 楽園 a Laksa restaurant. We may need to make a reservation if everyone eats vegan version.
• 13:30~14:00 現地解散(Finish event at the restaurant)
  *we may finish a bit earlier or later depending on how crowded the restaurant is
  *I can take you to the station if you are anxious about reading maps☺︎

◯ Access

• JR Chigasaki(ちがさき) station → Beach: 25 minutes on foot
• Beach → Restaurant: 20 minutes on foot
• Restaurant → Station: 12 minutes by bus/30 minutes on foot
  I recommend you use a rental cycle. I'll come by my bicycle!

◯ Restaurant

• 楽園: Shrimpy Laksa restaurant but they kindly arrange for vegans. Their vegan ice creams help bananas that have bad colour🍌🍨 I do not make a reservation because every time some people cancel at the last minute so I have lost lots of money💀 Thank you for your understanding.

◯ Cancel limit
24 hours before the starting time
*We'll cancel this event if there is rain or violent waves. We'll let you know if we've decided to cancel by 7:00 AM on the event date.

◯ What to bring

• Gloves
• Small tongs, tweezers, strainer
• Water, suncream, safe shoes, and sunglasses depending on your needs

*We provide garbage bags
*We have got 8 pairs of free gloves from the volunteer centre. Let me know if you want one. Men M size, women L size🧤

◯ Attendance fee
300 yen for the group
*The participation fee will be collected at the start of the event.
*Lunch fee is not included. Please get your own food and drink.

◯ Attendance limit
Minimum: 4 people
Maximum: 8 people

【NOTICE】
Please be aware of the following guidelines in order to prevent trouble:

1. In case of last-minute cancellations without any contact/tentative reservations/no-shows, we will promptly remove the concerned person from the group without prior notice.
2. Smoking, drugs, drinking alcohol, and harassment of fellow members during events are strictly prohibited in order to protect our members.
3. Individuals who do not RSVP in advance but still attend will not be accommodated.
4. If you plan to bring a guest, please ensure that they sign up as well.
5. The event organizers assume no liability for any accidents, injuries, or losses that may occur during and after the event.
