Kinshicho meetup is for both Rope climbing and Bouldering :)

The organisers will be here from 6 while feel free to join (and leave) anytime (the climbing normally lasts longer, but we set it for 2hrs to mean that we guarantee the organisers are there for at least 2hrs).

You can choose to do bouldering or rope climbing, totally up to you. Most of us like doing rope for a while then move to bouldering area. (I will share what I wear on the day in the event page, please note since we will be climbing we won't be able to check the phones regularly. You should be able to identify me by the description or just look for a group of English speaking people xD)

If you are completely new to climbing, the gym staff will provide an introduction on bouldering upon your arrival and we are happy to share tips and help if you need :)

NOTE: If you are completely new to rope climbing and want to try it, please take the top rope training with the gym instructor. There will be no dedicated gym belayers unlike the previous Rocklands event so we belay each other. And the organisers are NOT certified instructors so we WILL NOT be responsible to teach you as rope climbing comes with high risk!

The event is free while you only pay for the usage of gym. (We are a climbing community trying to provide the place for climbers to meet and climb together. We are not making any profit from the participants so please understand this is a meetup event instead of a training session or workshop.)

About usage of the gym: in Japan you don't need a test or certificate to climb rope. There are top rope sections and lead climbing sections for rope climbing. You will need harness and devices for top rope and if you want to lead, there's 550 yen rope rentals at the gym. You can rent harnesses and devices at the gym too.
