Jacksonville Fun Walk and Food Crew | Exploring Amelia Island/Fernandina Beach!
Details
November's walk will take many of us a little farther from home than previous walks, but adventure is like that sometimes!! Join us as we journey to Fernandina Beach on Amelia Island! Ameliaisland.com sums it up perfectly, saying: "Escape to an island named for a princess — where Indians roamed, pirates plundered, gilded age millionaires visited and lived, and African-Americans came to play as a refuge from segregation. Welcome to your weekend history lesson." Since 1562, Amelia Island has changed hands several times, earning its nickname, the "Isle of Eight Flags." The French, Spanish, British, Patriot, Green Cross of Florida, Mexican Rebel, Confederate, and United States flags have all flown over the 13-mile-long barrier island.
Join the Jacksonville Fun Walk and Food Crew for another fun-filled walking adventure to connect with like-minded individuals who share a passion for healthy living, outdoor activities, delicious food, and down-to-earth, uncomplicated adventure!
New people + new places = new possibilities! If you love to laugh, take pictures, and get to know others who share your love for health, fitness, community, and tasty treats, then you've found the right group! Together, we take a couple of hours to de-stress, discover new people and places in and around Jax, and enjoy what life has to offer here in northeast Florida. It's a short, much-needed (and well-earned) break from our regularly scheduled adulting!
Let's get moving in the heart of our little BIG town as we continue to explore the First Coast by food and foot, towards a healthier, happier, and fulfilling lifestyle!
As always, don't forget your comfy shoes, sunscreen, hat, and wallet (for our breakfast stop)! Be sure to come hungry for adventure (and food) to jumpstart your Saturday morning!
