Stream Processing with SQL

Abstract:
Stream Processing is no longer a niche; it is steadily becoming a necessity for major business use cases. Implementing stream processing in a simple and efficient manner is crucial. In this session, we will provide a walkthrough of two SQL-based stream processing options: ksqlDB and FlinkSQL. We will cover the core concepts for both services, including stream/table creation, real-time data joining, windowing, and more. Additionally, we will demonstrate hands-on queries to see how these concepts work in practice.

Bio:
Mustafa Bhanpurawala is a Solutions Engineer at Confluent as a part of the Shared Technical Services Team. He is passionate about making customers successful with their Data in Motion journey using Kafka. Prior to making a shift in his career as a Solutions Engineer, he was working as a Data Engineer specialized in extracting, transforming, and loading data from various sources, ensuring data quality and integrity throughout the process. His expertise extends to data architecture, ETL processes, and data modelling, contributing to the seamless flow of data for analytics and reporting.
