Sept. 21, 11 am: Powhatan State Park Pawpaw Festival

Details

Celebrate the park’s eleventh anniversary by attending the second annual PawPaw Festival. Find out what a pawpaw is. There may be free samples; plants and seeds to purchase. No guarantee though. Come early for best chance. There will be music, food, beverages from Fine Creek Brewery (possibly pawpaw saison), ranger led programs (including limited pawpaw foraging), animal encounters and local vendors. There is a $20 fee per car to enter the park and festival or $10 with a state park pass. Anyone who volunteers for two hours will be admitted free. Volunteer opportunities are available at the Friends of Powhatan State Park Meetup site.

This is an informational Meetup. I will be at the festival but will be volunteering. Direct message me if you have any questions about volunteering or about the festival. Please come by to say hello. I will likely be at the beer ID check, ticket sale table or Friends of Powhatan State Park table. This event was very popular last year and became one of the most successful first time events in Virginia State Park history. It is recommended that you arrive early during the festival to avoid congestion getting into the park.
