Jan 1, 10:30 am: Happy New Year Hike Powhatan State Park
Details
Happy New Year!!! Let's start the year right with a hike in the beautiful woods of Powhatan State Park. This hike will be in 2 parts - starting at the Equestrian Parking Lot and doing a 3 mile circuit hike seeing the James River and then leading us back to the parking lot. After a quick break, those of us who wish to continue will cross Powhatan State Park Road to the trails on the playground side of the park approximately 2 miles. Since this is the First Day Hike you are encouraged to stop at the Park Office to get a bingo board and complete a photo scavenger hunt searching for items around the park. And the best part is that parking is FREE today. Please allow enough time for a bathroom break - located at the playground parking lot as the hike will begin at 10:30. Carole and I look forward to a fun hike with you.
