Intermediate Session
Details
We are back onto the Wednesday nights!
The Intermediate sessions are the same as the Beginners sessions except that we can introduce new songs and do other songs outside the skill level of the beginners.
So beginners are welcome and encouraged to join in and you can learn a lot. Just be aware that we move at a quicker pace and you can get lost.
Note to all Intermediate Players:
A little music theory is required.
The key of a song is the root note of which the song revolves around. It is the root note of the scale the song is in.
A scale is a series of 8 notes that form a harmonious climb on a keyboard from one note through to its higher twin, eg G A B C D E F G These are the notes in the key of G.
If the song is then in G, I can predict that the song will often use the 4th note C and the 5th note D in its main structure.
If you know the KEY of the song then you can predict the other notes from the scale..
Hence why it is called a key note.
So, when introducing a new song, we need to have the root note, the key to the scale and we can work it from there.
Hope that helps.
