**UPDATE:** I just changed the restaurant location to Ric Walter's family-run Brighten Brewing Co. in Copley. He has been wanting us to go there and I feel like this is the right time. They are expecting us at 3:00.

**HIGHLIGHTS:** Bath Nature Preserve is a 411-acre natural area that was once part of the Raymond Firestone (son of Harvey) Estate. It was opened to the public in 2001 and consists of rolling terrain with open fields, old growth forests, wetlands and 20-acre Bath Pond with its floating observation platform. It has a total of over 6 miles of trails and we will do 3-4 miles of the best of them. Since the weather in November can be unpredictable, let's prepare for the white stuff. The views there are perfect when there is a little snow on the ground! The Preserve's trails are both paved and gravel and we will base our route on the weather conditions at the time. Our meeting place will be the parking lot of the Bath Community Center Shelter at 1:00. I will be wearing a Meetup sign.

Afterward, let's head 12 minutes - 5.6 miles - south to Brighten Brewing Company in Copley, a craft beer location owned by the family of our own Ric Walter. I've been wanting to check this place out and this will be a nice opportunity.

**DIRECTIONS TO BATH PRESERVE:** The preserve has two entrances and we will use the eastern-most one (1615 N. Cleveland Massillon Rd.) because of its larger parking lot. Going south on Route 21, turn left at the Bath Community Park (turn right if coming from the south) and go to the FIRST lot on the left - the one with the large carved Indian head. Once that lot fills up - it holds 30 cars - you will need to drive 700 feet further down the park road to another lot on the left.

**DIRECTIONS TO BRIGHTEN BREWING:** From the parking lot turn left onto Cleveland-Massillon Rd. (Route 21). Go 1.8 miles south to an intersection with Ghent Rd. and bear to the right to stay on Cleveland-Massillon Rd. Go another 3.9 miles to the brewery on the right in the village of Copley.

**ABOUT OUR "HIKES":** We are NOT a pure hiking group. Our "hikes" are not intended to be non-stop, cardio workouts. You can expect to stop often to experience the surroundings, take pictures and maybe even have a conversation about what we are visiting. We will travel at no MORE than 3MPH (20 minute miles) and never leave anyone behind. If you need to move at a faster, non-stop pace or don't care about your surroundings, this is definitely not an event for you.
