**HIGHLIGHTS:** There are tons of light shows going on during the holidays, but this one might be the closest thing to the perfect Christmas event in northern Ohio. Akron's Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens is an estate featuring an historic 65-room Tudor Revival Manor House, conservatory, lodge and 70 acres of artistically landscaped grounds and formal gardens. It is a first-class attraction any time of year, but it is at Christmas time that the place comes alive with the holiday spirit.

The Manor House and gardens are illuminated with more than one million holiday lights. Guests enter through the Courtyard with a huge lighted Christmas tree as the centerpiece. The Manor House features a first-floor tour (one way to ensure safety) decorated with snowmen, elves, nutcrackers and plenty of nostalgia. In the gardens, Gingerbread Land is decorated with even more lights, candy canes and gingerbread men and women. There are refreshments outside in the Courtyard - hot cocoa, gingerbread, beer and pretzels.

Afterwards, maybe a few of us can head out for some holiday cheer at a local eatery before heading home. I would like to try Mustard Seed at Highland Square again since it will be a Sunday and no events going on. It is only 4 minutes away and has plenty of seating.

Make sure you choose Dec. 22 and the 3:00-8:00 time slot. Once you have paid for your ticket, please let me know in the comments so I can make a list of who's going. There will be no limit on the number of attendees. I will meet you UNDER THE ARCH of the Carriage House (you will pass it on the right as you enter the parking lot) at 4:45PM and we'll all go in together at 5:00PM. I will be wearing a Meetup sign and Santa hat. Make sure you have a printed copy of your ticket or have it ready on your phone to scan. Once through the house we will be able to wander the grounds at our leisure - on your own or in small groups.

**PARKING:** Parking is free and they have two lots. If the upper one fills up (it rarely does) they will shuttle people from their lower lot which is located .4 miles north on North Portage Path - on the left just before the railroad tracks.
