What we’re about

JOY = Just Over Youth

Join us young folk over 50 who are single. It is designed for older singles to enjoy a social life. We are not about setting people up – but if you find a love connection … fantastic. If you are younger than 50, you are also welcome.

Most events are within the Summerville/North Charleston/Goose Creek area but we sometimes venture farther out. If you are new to the area or just recently single, this is a great way to meet new people.

There will be social events with outside activities, dining out (affordable places as well as 5-star restaurants), movies, cultural events and anything we as a group decide to do.

Richard Hanf leads a really fun game of Trivia on Tuesday night. This Trivia includes the possibility of Karaoke (voluntary of course), dancing for extra points at halftime, a free answer from Rich Trivia Facebook page........lots of opportunities for laughs and a great way to make new friends. The food is really good! We even get to order from the kids menu and save money.

Most of all, it's fun and a great way to get to know people.

If you are alone on Thanksgiving, then join us for turkey or ham dinner. The Family Restaurant (formerly Flowertown and then Alex) has a tradition of a free meal on Thanksgiving. After the meal, we can walk around Hutchinson Square and see the birds.

2024 Crèche Festival - "Nativity In Glass and Under Glass"

Every year, Mepkin Abbey displays Nativity scenes and each year it is different. I only have 3 extra tickets.

We can meet in Summerville and carpool to Mepkin Abbey. Or we can meet at the gift shop.
