2024 Kansas City Plaza Lighting Ceremony

Kick off your holiday season with us as we take part in the Kansas City Plaza Lighting Ceremony.
This is our group’s annual event and we always have a blast!

We have found that parking up the hill at Loose Park and walking down the hill is the fastest way in and out of the event. We do NOT stand right by the stage where everyone else is. We stand about a block away and watch the pre-lighting entertainment on the large screens at the intersection.

At 6:00 pm we will leave Loose Park parking lot and walk to Nichols & /Wornall/Broadway (about a 13 min walk) to watch the pre-ceremony entertainment, flip of the light switch, and watch fireworks from Nichols & Wornall/Broadway intersection. (Note, this is a couple blocks east of the stage.) If you don't find us at the parking lot, join us at this intersection. (See photos for pic of map where we are meeting and viewing location.)
After the lights, we will walk to Granfalloon Restaurant (608 Ward Parkway, KCMO--about a 5 min walk) to have appetizers and beverages...for those who want to keep socializing

Price: FREE for the lighting ceremony, then whatever you order at the Granfalloon
What to bring: If you like, bring a hot drink like hot chocolate and/or bottle of water.
How to dress: Warm coat, hat, gloves and comfortable shoes (Check the weather to see how heavy of a coat you will need)
Note: we will be walking downhill, which means coming back up the hill after the event. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes and know your physical limits.
