New Year's Day on the South Downs (20 miles)

Kent LDWA social walk of approx 20 miles.
Please note this is a relatively demanding & hilly route

Meeting point: start of South Downs Way at bottom of slope by finger post //wide.whites.calculatng. Parking in road where King Edwards Parade & Dukes Drive meet.

This is a circular route via Beachy Head, the Seven Sisters & Cuckmere Valley to Alfriston, where there will be a lunch stop & then return via inland section of South Downs Way. Toilets will be available (subject to being open on the day) at Birling Gap (around 4 miles) & Alfriston. There are also toilets a couple of hundred yards from the start of the walk, at Helen’s Gardens, although I cannot guarantee these will be open

Although it is not necessary to "book in" for walks, it would be helpful to let the leader know that you intend joining the walk (or can no longer make it if you have booked on), as not doing so may mean that the group leaves without you or is waiting for you to arrive. If you know your LDWA membership number, please also let the walk leader know.
