Welcome,
This is a fairly popular tennis group intended to welcome all players from the East Bay and San Francisco area. Depending on the number of attendees and courts available, we play singles, doubles, rallies in a rotation often on king-of-the-court basis.
We have found that tennis players enjoy the experience more if they play with players with similar skill levels. To promote a better experience, we have created two groups. A minimum 3.0 group consists of players that are fairly consistent when hitting medium-paced shots, can sustain a rally, has a good first serve, with control and placement of shots. If you are a beginner, then this might not be the right venue for you.
We have also created a 3.5 to 4.5 group for advanced players. These players can return and hit fast-paced shots, play the net with consistency and not fear fast-paced shots, and win points with their first serve. A committee has been formed to determine if players are appropriate for this group.
It is important that you show up for all the events you RSVP for. Not updating your status may leave a player on the sidelines for the day. Also important that you have a sense of humor!
We have found that we are constantly short of new balls and the same people are the ones that continuously provide them.
To make it equal and fair, we have decided to charge $5 each month to supply new balls every MeetUp. If you play at least 4 times per month, it is guaranteed that you will get your investment back and enjoy playing with new balls every time.
Payment will be due before the 30th of each month and organizers will start bringing new balls for everyone starting April 1st. Please pay using Venmo sent to @Lonnie Arroyo (you will recognize me by my picture).
Non-payers will be banned from the MeetUp.
