Welcome everyone to the Pagan celebration of the autumn equinox, which we call Mabon!

As the summer and all the fun it brought comes to an end, the change of seasons reflects a beautiful maturation in ourselves, and a preparation for the darkness which lies ahead.

As such, the centerpiece for this ritual will be a re-enactment of Persephone saying goodbye to her mother Demeter, and embarking on her journey to the underworld for the remainder of the year, led by Hecate.

We will meet right outside the metro at Angrignon at 2:30. We will give people until 3pm, and then head to our ritual spot in the park. Please arrive on time, as it is very distracting for the other guests to have people show up late and break the concentration during the ritual.

Everyone is asked to bring a small object with them that reflects or reminds them of a cherished memory. As Persephone and Demeter walk the circle, each participant will share the memory their object represents, and place the item in Persephone's basket. The basket will be placed upon the altar and we will invite anyone willing to join us in a dance to consecrate the items. We will do a toast, and then Persephone will say goodbye to her mother, and Hecate will lead her to the underworld. Along her journey, she will pass by each participant a second time and return their items, imploring each person to cherish these memories closely to ease our experience of the cold months ahead and the darkness they bring.

We will then have a potluck, so if you have food you'd like to share, we encourage you! While we will have extras, it is advised that you bring your own cutlery, plate, and drinking cup in case many others show up. Finally, we ask if you could make a contribution of $5 since we need to rent spaces to host these rituals in the colder months, and collecting at rituals throughout the year is the only way we cover that cost.

Bienvenue à tous à la célébration Païenne de l'équinoxe d'automne, que nous appelons Mabon !

Alors que l'été et tout le plaisir qu'il a apporté touche à sa fin, le changement de saison reflète une belle maturation en nous-mêmes et une préparation à l'obscurité qui nous attend.

Ainsi, la pièce maîtresse de ce rituel sera une reconstitution de Perséphone disant au revoir à sa mère Déméter et se lançant dans son voyage vers la pègre pour le reste de l'année, dirigé par Hécate.

Nous nous retrouverons juste devant le métro Angrignon à 14h30. Nous donnerons aux gens jusqu'à 15h, puis nous nous dirigerons vers notre lieu de rituel dans le parc. Veuillez arriver à l'heure, car il est très distrayant pour les autres invités que les gens arrivent en retard et brisent la concentration pendant le rituel.

Tout le monde est invité à apporter un petit objet qui reflète ou rappelle un souvenir précieux. Pendant que Perséphone et Déméter parcourent le cercle, chaque participant partagera le souvenir que son objet représente et placera l'objet dans le panier de Perséphone. Le panier sera placé sur l'autel et nous vous inviterons à se joindre dans une danse pour consacrer les objets. Apres une boire à la santé, Perséphone dira au revoir à sa mère et Hécate la conduira à la pègre. Au cours de son voyage, elle passera une deuxième fois devant chaque participant et lui rendra ses objets, implorant chaque personne de chérir ces souvenirs de près pour nous faciliter l'expérience des mois froids à venir et de l'obscurité qu'ils apportent.

Nous organiserons ensuite un repas-partage, donc si vous avez de la nourriture que vous aimeriez partager, nous vous encourageons ! Bien que nous ayons des extras, il est conseillé d'apporter vos propres couverts, assiette et tasse à boire au cas où beaucoup d'autres se présenteraient. Enfin, nous vous demandons si vous pouvez faire une contribution de 5 $ car nous devons louer des espaces pour accueillir ces rituels pendant les mois les plus froids, et la collecte lors des rituels tout au long de l'année est le seul moyen de couvrir ce coût.
