What we’re about
Moving to a new city is never easy, but with the help from locals and those who have come for longer; settling in can be easier than you think.
This group is for Newcomers and those who want to welcome them.
Krakow has one of the biggest foreign populations in Poland which make it an exciting place for people to live and socialise.
Anyone is welcome to join this group who are living or visiting Kraków.
We will list events here such as the Village in the City Newcomers Club as well as informal business networking event OpenCoffee KRK.
if you have an event that you would like to publicise to our audience please get in touch.

Values and Housekeeping Rules
1. We are tolerant, friendly and inclusive., can be summarised as "We welcome all who welcome all."
2. Don't be creepy - > some people think that it's OK to treat our events as pickup or speed dating nights. We don't accept that. We follow the TEDxKazimierz Code of Conduct
3 We want our events to work for a shy person who doesn't necessarily feel they "fit it" if it works for them, it will work for self confident people too.
4. We are not only for Newcomers, but also for longer term residents who want to welcome them.

This "Krakow Newcomers Welcome Club" gathering is for people who are new to Krakow or long standing residents who want to welcome them.
This event will be hosted by Van supported by Richard, David, Max, Tamta, Lennart, Caroline and the team from Yolk.
What is different about these meetings is that they are designed to be "newcomer friendly", with integration activities and games so that people who don't know anyone don't feel that they are entering a room where everyone knows each other.
- Who should join: People new in Krakow who want to get integrated with others in the city, and those who already live here and want to welcome them.
- Why they should join: These two groups should join because it will help strengthen their local connections, improve their social lives and help them integrate.
- What members can expect out of the group: There are three parts of our meetups. 1 structured integration games, designed to make things easy for participants who don't know other people to make new connections, 2 Community announcements where those have a community project are able to tell other people in the room about it, and 3. informal socialising
- Community: The group will foster relationships between those who attend because thanks to the way it is organised, it will be easy to meet a large number of people rapidly , and spend time with those who they find most interesting.
The first meetup was held October 2021 and since we have welcomed 300+ people to these events. Each event creates new bonds between newcomers to Krakow and locals (or those who have been here for a while) in a simple, fun, yet effective way.
Our events are open and welcoming to people from all backgrounds. You will be surprised to see how many different nationalities come together at these events.
EVENT STRUCTURE:
We will have a structured first sixty minutes with icebreakers aimed at making things easy for people to connect with one another. Then participants are welcome to hang out and socialise as they wish after the structured part of the meeting is over.
