What we’re about
The Kuala Lumpur Classical, Jazz & Contemporary Music group is for anyone who enjoys listening to or playing classical, jazz, or contemporary music.
The aim is to build the group slowly and we will start with a smaller number where we can talk, discuss and share. I am planning to start with a few talks on Opera, later the Song Books from 50's Jazz and after a few contemporary artists. I'll run the first few talks but delighted to be usurped by someone more knowledgeable than me.
We will start in Bangsar but later may go more central if it suits more people.
I am new to this, so it is likely to evolve. Don’t be intimidated if you don’t know much about classical or jazz; this is a place for us all to expand our knowledge and enjoy a breath of music—no music snobs, please. Come with an open mind.
Later, we plan to arrange concerts, recitals, and more. I am new to KL, so I am looking forward to making new friends.
Lastly, members must have a profile photo to join. We want to create a safe, friendly group who can feel confident about who is attending. If you want to hide your face, I am sure you may have a good reason, but the settings won't allow you to join. You can PM if you have a solid reason for being made an exception.
Also please be clear, this is not a dating group. Members should feel safe and unbothered at every event. Members will be banned if they are reported acting in a manner that makes others feel uncomfortable. Also we are for long term residents of KL only. No tourists or travellers with the exception of touring musicians.
