Details

In this meeting, we will be exploring the Stoic Philosophy of Epictetus.

Epictetus was a Greek Stoic philosopher (55–135 CE) who rose from slavery to become one of the most influential figures in Stoicism. His teachings offer practical guidance on living a virtuous life, emphasizing self-discipline, resilience, and acceptance of things beyond our control.

Key Discussion Points:

  1. Epictetus' life and his journey from slavery to philosopher.

  2. Core ideas of Stoicism: distinguishing between what we can and can not control.

  3. How true happiness stems from our attitudes, not external circumstances.

The objective of this meeting is to explore how Epictetus' philosophy can be applied in modern life for achieving inner peace and resilience.
