I am not sure how I discovered this --prob looking for the Journey to Beethlehem interactive play where you are one of the actors/players in the play also.....but regardless I found it as unique and interesting and would like to be a part of it.

Anyway the production is a timed, walking theatrical experience. Each tour can contain no more than 16 guests and involves walking, standing and climbing upstairs.

It is important guests arrive on time for their tour. (remember you are the play-its interactive. Children under 5 are not advised)

I have never heard of this and they are in their 23rd year of doing it????

Here's the Scoop:

This environmental theater piece transports audiences through the pages of Charles Dickens "A Christmas Carol," as Ebenezer Scrooge, Jacob Marley and Tiny Tim come to life in a walking tour of the historic Bloss Mansion.

" A Christmas Tradition", an A.B.C Production, brings together the talents of 60 individuals from Atwater HIgh School and Buhach Colony HIgh School Drama Departments, as well as the support of the Atwater Historical Society.

"Every year , students are so excited to audition for and perform in this play," explains Kim Holl, a drama teacher at Buhach Colony. "Its become something the students look forward to ever year."

The show lasts one hour and 20 minutes. There are several shows each evening, starting every 20 minutes.

Audience members are greeted by a friendly hostess in front of the house. Here, the audience is prepared for the participation sections of the show.

A Storyteller guides the group to the front door, and the tour begins with a brave audience member knocking on Ebenezer Scrooge's door.

As the audience moves fr room to room, they experience different scenes from the story: the ghostly warning from Jacob Marley, the revelation of the three spirits and the transformation of Scrooge.

Audience members will delight as they dance at Fezziwig's Christmas party, help the Cratchit children make cookies, and trim the tree with Srooge's nephew and niece.

" We have worked very hard to have the audience feel that they have journeyed into the story, lived the story--not just watched it," says
Julianne Aguilar, the Atwater High School Drama Instructor.
