Check out this 2.0-mile loop trail near Apex, North Carolina. Generally considered an easy route, it takes an average of 38 min to complete. We can opt to do the loop twice, making it 4 miles. This is a very popular area for birding, fishing, and running, so you'll likely encounter other people while exploring. The trail is open year-round and is beautiful to visit anytime. Dogs are welcome, but must be on a leash.
The Lake Pine Trail has two main entrances, one at Apex Community Park: 2200 Laura Duncan Rd, Apex, and the one we will use at 1808 Lake Pine Dr, in Cary which is closer to the trail. It was completely resurfaced in September 2018 and is easily the best maintained trail in Apex, with plenty of nice views of the lake. Bathrooms are located at both entrances, and a water fountain is available on the trail near the Apex Community Park access.

Afterwards, we'll drive 5 minutes away (3.7 miles) to Bonafide Bakeshop for an amazing unique menu of house made breakfast and lunch items including quiches, soups salads sandwiches specials, and OH THE SWEETS!!!! Abundance of amazing vegan options; staff are friendly and efficient. They will have awesome holiday options if you are interested
